Palliative care

The Bays Healthcare provides for the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our palliative care patients and their families. Our care is aimed at providing comfort, dignity and relief from pain, fatigue, nausea, shortness of breath and loss of appetite which can be symptoms during palliative care.

Our caring staff are dedicated to improving quality of life and work closely with our specialists on determining the best interests of our patients and their care.

The Bays Healthcare recognises and is an active participant of Advance Care Planning.

Advance care planning is a series of steps you can take to help you plan for your future health care. It enables you to take control of your future health care and treatment in preparation for a time when you may not be able to communicate your wishes.

Treating doctors and your family may be unaware of your treatment preferences if these have not been discussed and recorded. A clear statement of your wishes, will alleviate this stress on your family and guide your doctors to provide suitable treatment according to your plan.
