Cancer services

We understand that it may be a very stressful time. We treat all patients with care, compassion and understanding.

The Bays provides a comprehensive cancer care and support service – from cancer screening and diagnosis through to cancer surgery, oncology treatment, follow-up and ongoing support.

We aim to give our local community access to the best cancer care available.

Onsite at Mornington we provide:

  • specialised oncology nursing care including McGrath Foundation Breast Care Nurses and Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurses
  • access to medical oncologists and haematologists
  • surgery for cancer
  • diagnostic imaging and pathology
  • chemotherapy and infusion service
  • support service network
  • social worker
  • dietitian
  • physiotherapists
  • pharmacists

Our surgeons regularly perform surgery to remove malignant (solid) tumours of the prostate, breast, skin, lung and gastrointestinal tract.

Our haematology care includes clinical treatment and management of blood conditions including anaemia, Hodgkin’s disease, lymphoma, leukaemia and myeloma, and thrombosis (such as haemophilia, deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism).

Our team prioritise providing supportive care and education for all our recently diagnosed cancer patients, or for those who require additional information throughout their illness.
