During National Volunteer Week (20-26 May 2024), we celebrated and recognised the work of our amazing volunteers, who are a vital part of ‘The Bays Difference’.

We celebrated their many and varied contributions with a special afternoon tea event, and recognised volunteers who have provided 5 and 10 years of service.

This year’s theme ‘Something for everyone’, recognised the diverse talents everyone brings to the act of volunteering, and the many different roles available.

Our 90 volunteers provide support in a variety of ways including:

  • as concierges and patient liaison officers
  • providing companionship to patients
  • helping in our Gift shop
  • as patient liaison officers
  • watering patients’ flowers
  • providing administrative support

We are so grateful to our Bays volunteers for generously giving an enormous amount of their time, but more than that, for the feeling and relationships they have built.

The Bays volunteers make a difference to our community every day through building connections with our patients, residents, staff, visitors and each other.
