Dr Brent Gaskin

Dr. Brent Gaskin is an ophthalmologist with particular interests in cataract, ophthalmic plastic, and tear duct surgery.

Brent has specialist advanced training in the surgical correction of:

• Eyelid malposition (drooping or sagging eyelids)
• Functional and cosmetic blepharoplasty
• Peri-ocular skin cancer
• Watery eyes

He also consults and offers expert opinion in:

• Modern refractive cataract surgery
• Diseases of the eye socket
• General eye disease

Brent is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO). He holds the position of examiner with the College in the advanced clinical examination (the final exam taken by future specialists). Brent also holds current public appointments at:

1. The Alfred Hospital – where he is involved in teaching cataract and eyelid surgery
2. The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in the Orbital Plastic and Lacrimal clinic where he consults and teaches in complex eyelid, orbital and lacrimal surgery

Brent is an active member of the following important national and international societies: The Australian and New Zealand Society of Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeons (ANZSOPS) and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS).

Outside of work, Brent shares his life with his wife Jennifer and their three beautiful children.
