Congratulations to our McGrath Breast Care Nurse, Rachel Giannakas who recently celebrated 10 years’ service at The Bays!

Rachel joined us as a graduate registered nurse before undertaking further study to specialise as a breast care nurse. When Rachel isn’t working as at McGrath Breast Care Nurse, she can be found on our medical and surgical wards.

Applications for our 2025 Graduate Nurse (RN and EEN) and Midwife Programs are currently open and will close next Friday, 26 July.

Our Graduate Nurse Program supports, guides and enables you to develop your professional and personal skills in our caring and community-focused, not-for-profit organisation.

We recognise that clinical support is critical to your transition and development.

We offer a 2-year maximum term contract, with ward rotations in general medical and surgical units with opportunities to experience our High Dependency Unit, Day Infusion Unit, Dialysis, Theatre and Maternity, or we also offer direct entry into the Perioperative Graduate Program if this is your preference.

Supernumerary days are offered during the first week and include a comprehensive two-day orientation designed to prepare you for clinical work.

This also includes core clinical competencies such as basic life support, infection control and manual handling. You will then commence your first rotation with a reduced patient load to facilitate your entry into the nursing profession.

We offer structured study days throughout the year, access to onsite education and professional development support from dedicated preceptors and clinical nurse educators.
