Pathology

Melbourne Pathology at The Bays offers a wide range of pathology testing and an on-site laboratory for prompt, accurate results. A home visiting service is available for those patients who are infirm or do not have access to transport. We also provide an emergency after-hours service. Physiotherapy

At The Bays Hospital, a physiotherapist is available for treatment if required. Here at The Bays, Beleura Sports and Spinal of Mornington have been providing excellent physiotherapy services for a number of years. There may be many reasons why you would need to see a physiotherapist during your stay at The Bays. Treatment may be required for post-operative management of musculoskeletal injuries, such as shoulder and knee surgery, or for assistance with mobility. You may require chest physiotherapy in post-operative recovery from general surgery to assist breathing and lung function. The Bays Dialysis Unit (Hastings)

Opened in 1992, the Dialysis Unit was the first dialysis treatment centre on the Peninsula, with patients no longer having to travel to the Melbourne CBD for treatment. Today, the Unit has an eight patient capacity and operates six days a week. Patients visiting the Peninsula area are welcome to transfer their dialysis sessions to the Unit for the duration of their stay. For further information, please call 03 5979 0344.

Specialist nurses are available to provide advice and assistance to Hospital patients and to the general public in the following areas - Diet, Diabetes, Infection Control, Lactation, Stomal Therapy and Wound Management.
