Medical & Surgical Units

The Bays Hospital offer spacious private rooms and every effort is made to make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

Coolart Unit (Ground Floor) and Briars Unit (First Floor) offer private rooms with full ensuite facilities for acute medical and surgical patients staying over night or for a number of days. Each room contains a bedside radio, telephone, remote-control television and in-house video channel. Delicious, nutritionally balanced meals are prepared daily by the Hospitals chef and catering staff.

Our 4-bed High Dependency Unit, located in Coolart Ward, is for those patients requiring 24-hour monitoring or specialist treatments.

Five state-of-the-art Theatre Suites and a post-operative Recovery Room are fully equipped to carry out all major, minor, elective and non-elective surgical procedures.

Patients undergoing minor surgical procedures, requiring only a local or light anaesthesia, may be admitted to the Day Surgery Unit
